    “I am happy to welcome key Indian and Polish companies representing the mining, steel and energy sectors. It is you the entrepreneurs who put our energy management strategies into practice,” said Undersecretary of State Katarzyna Kacperczyk when opening the 5th Asian Mining Congress in Kolkata on 13 February. Poland is the event’s guest of honour.

    The deputy chief of Polish diplomacy accompanied by the deputy minister of economy J.W. Pietrewicz and over 70 representatives of Polish companies and research institutes representing the mining, raw materials and energy sectors. The inauguration of the Asian Mining Congress brought together over 600 business people from India’s largest mining and energy companies.

    In Kolkata, Polish entrepreneurs can present their products at the Mining Exhibition, an event that concurs with the congress. Poland is the official partner country of the exhibition. Deputy Minister Kacperczyk took part in the opening ceremony along with S. Jaiswal, India’s Minister of Coal. Poland’s presence at both the congress and the exhibition is part of celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

     

     

    Deputy Minister Kacperczyk will also attend a seminar organized to promote Poland as an attractive business partner. The event will be hosted by the Engineering Export Promotion Council, an organization that gathers several thousand small and medium-sized companies from India.
